Information Morning and Open Day

For Kindergarten

 All Welcome

The information day is to offer information to those parents intending to enrol their children into Kindergarten.  You may not be aware that nearly one in four young Australians is educated in a Catholic School.  With these numbers increasing annually there is evidence that Catholic Schools are continuing to meet the diverse needs of children and their families.  St Josephs has been doing this in the Wee Waa community since 1909.

Parents deliberating on their childs education are welcome to attend our Open Day.  Parents desire an education that offers more than just a secular perspective.  parents want their chidren to learn more about lifes big questions in a framework of religious perspectives and values.  St Josephs offers a well-rounded education incorporating all new South Wales syllabus documents for the six key learning areas as well as the Catholic perspective through the Celebrating Our Journey Religious Education syllabus.  St Josephs strives to offer an education that caters to the needs of the whole child.  The school community is committed to being involved in town and community activities by poarticipating in ANZAC Day ceremonies, local show entries, visiting and performing for senior citizens at functions and at the local nursing home, clean-Up Australia Day, local shire events and a variety of other events as the opportunities arise.

St Josephs offers a curriculum loaded with extra curricular opportunities for all children from Kindergarten to year 6.  Students participate in a structured gross motor programme and weekly fitness programme.  An intensive swimming programme is followed during Terms 1 and 4 under the supervision of teaching staff who have attained AUSTSWIM qualifications.  Regular opportunities are presented where children can participate in music, dance and drama activities conducted by the teachers or by specialist teachers who visit the school with a number of children also participating and achieving in the Narrabri Eisteddfod.

Children attending St Josephs dont miss out on sporting opportunities.  St Josephs students have the opportunity of participating in Armidale Diocesan sport trials that lead to Polding and PSSA sporting opportunities at a State level.  Come and find out how parents too, can be involved in partnership with St Josephs in the well rounded holistic education of their children.  St Josephs is well supported by a dynamic School Board, vibrant Parents anf Friends Association and a supportive Parish Community all of who contribute to the decision making processes within the School.
