Writing for Social Media & Community Advocacy workshop

This practical, hands on 3.5-hour training session is pivotal to everything - promotion of community events & organisations, small business promotion, advertising, social media strategies, media releases, community advocacy.

Writing for Social Media builds on the ‘building online communities’ training* we did in March and will give you real-time experience writing effective social media posts for specific target audiences, i.e. how to say the same thing 5 (or 10 or 20) different ways, as well as the opportunity to plan a basic digital media campaign.

These skills are also excellent for anyone who needs to speak out about, or advocate for, issues or community concerns that are important to them - grassroots organisations, rural businesses, entrepreneurs, change agents, political aspirants.

* You do not have to have attended the previous workshop to attend this one.

Everyone welcome.

There are 20 places in this workshop - registration is essential: email steph@thewriteroad.com.au or text 0422 138 103.

Event details are:
Date: Tuesday 20 August
Time: 6pm-9.30pm
Venue: Lightning Ridge Bowling Club

There is no cost for this training, thank you Red Cross!

A Tale of Two Barbaras - Catherine Wallace

Monday 9 March, 2020

In this lecture we look at the work of two fe-male sculptors who lived in Cornwall, UK for most of their lives. Barbara Hepworth (1903–1975) became a leading light in the modernist movement in British art. Barbara Tribe (1913 – 2000) came from Australia and was a talent-ed sculptor. She returned to Australia on many occasions in later life. We take a fascinating in depth look at the similarities and differences in the work of these two pioneering female artists of the 20th Century.
