A Tale of Two Barbaras - Catherine Wallace

Monday 9 March, 2020

In this lecture we look at the work of two fe-male sculptors who lived in Cornwall, UK for most of their lives. Barbara Hepworth (1903–1975) became a leading light in the modernist movement in British art. Barbara Tribe (1913 – 2000) came from Australia and was a talent-ed sculptor. She returned to Australia on many occasions in later life. We take a fascinating in depth look at the similarities and differences in the work of these two pioneering female artists of the 20th Century.
