Louis Dreyfus takes lead role in Namoi Cotton marketing partnership

Drought-weakened Namoi Cotton has re-jigged its marketing joint venture with multinational commodities giant Louis Dreyfus Company, effectively giving its partner control of day-to-day management of Namoi's trading and marketing and warehousing activities.

In what is expected to be the last in a six-month run of sweeping restructuring and staff shedding actions at the NSW-Queensland ginning and marketing company, the latest Namoi business shakeup aims to bolster the trading business's financial capacity to weather volatile cotton and currency markets.

Ever since the start of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions my team and I have been dealing with the community fall out. Changes made on the fly always have unintended  consequences, consequences that have a negative impact on our community. We’ve been working hard to sort these issues out and lobby the Government for changes on your behalf, I’m pleased to say we have had a lot of success in this area, changing the Health Orders on many occasions to work better for Barwon.

Disqualified driver charged after pursuit at Narrabri

A disqualified driver has been charged following a police pursuit at Narrabri today.

Just after 3.30am (Saturday 23 May 2020), officers attached to Oxley Police District observed a Holden Commodore with its rear lights out travelling on Cooma Road, Narrabri, and attempted to stop the vehicle near Bridge Street.

When it allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
